When you purchase a print (only), it is rolled and shipped in a tube. If the destination is within the continental USA, the cost of shipping is included.

Who Should Do The Matting and Framing?

If you are located in the Detroit area, I can matte and frame in a manner that is consistent with the photo art print; you are thus getting a finished product.  On the other hand, some people prefer to matte and frame the print themselves so they can better blend it into the room they will display it in. If you need assistance, take the print to a quality frame shop to have a proper matte, frame and glass fitted.

I prefer NOT to ship framed prints. Why?

The cost of packaging and shipping a framed print versus a print-only typically adds to the cost of framing, about 10 to 20% for small prints and up to 80% for large prints. Safeguarding a framed print during shipment, particularly one framed in glass, requires special packaging. The shipping fees include the cost of packaging for shipment, which can add quite a bit of expense, particularly for the larger size prints under glass. All framed prints 12x18 and above are treated as oversized by UPS and thus the cost of shipping is much higher. If you are able to arrange pick up from my location, you thus avoiding these extra expenses.

In the galleries, under each image, is a drop down menu displaying the size and price options for print only. Mattes and framing are not included. If we can arrange for pick-up or delivery in the Detroit area, matting and framing is priced as follows:

The size combinations are pre-designed to fit in standard size frames. This example is 12 x 18 made for a 20 x 26 inch frame.

 

 

Not all images are cropped the same. Most are a 2:3 ratio that fit the above image sizes. Square or panoramic images will be printed to the maximum size without cropping. For example a square image will be printed 7.5 x 7.5 on an 8x10 print.

The use of UltraChrome K3 pigment inks (Epson) and high quality premium luster paper ensures archival prints that will last into the next century.
